I purchased a 2006 Vette as a birthday gift to myself when I turned 30... I'm in love with the car but I have one annoying complaint... I have the 3LT package with the factory Nav Bose system... My problem is no matter what CD I put in the player it skips horribly... I could unwrap a brand new CD and put it in and BAM!!! The songs skip like crazy!!! It is embarressing when you have the top off on a shiny red sports car and the song you are trying to enjoy is skipping like crazy!!! I'm bout to lose my mind over this... I just wanna But I can't...
CD players tend to skip more as the laser loses alignment, there is not much you can do about it because (my guess) is that repair would not be very cost effective.
You might have better luck playing MP3 encoded CD's, as they are data files and are buffered to some extent.
In general I'd just suggest getting an auxiliary cable or ipod kit. If you have any sort of modern phone putting music on it or using Pandora is better than messing with CD's anyways, and there are multiple ipod integration options as well.
I would love to get some sort of connection to hook up an ipod to the factory radio... That would make life sooooo great or even an aux to my droid... That would be killer... Does anyone know where I could get said items?

If you have XM it is very simple. Ray Kawal sells a connection that you just plug in at the xm box.
I have put Ray Kawal's PAL Verson 2 in my C6 coupe and it is great for having all your tunes onboard via your iPod; it's also a pretty simple install in a coupe. I left the XM receiver out (no subscription) and simply placed the PAL on the plastic mouting tray for the XM box and hooked it up w/Ray's cable and ran the iPod cable to the center console (some put it in the right rear storage box which is probably easier than unbolting the console). It's a very worthwhile mod IMHO......
Enjoy,
