Did you get the oiled version or their new non-oiled version?

The non-oiled one . Easy installation, about 30 mins.

Default Now the big test

Has any one with an LS3 bothered to do a before and after dyno test ? I'd like to see the results. If the gains are mainly at or near WOT, meh ..........

I really don't understand how a new intake in a closed compartment will result in an improvement in performance. The Callaway cold air intake makes sense since you have to remove the barrier that prevents fresh (cool) air from entering. But it is a PITA to install! I know, I did it.

I would be interested in just adding the two flaps on the radiator that keeps the hot engine bay air separate from the air breather bay, for my stock Z06 breather.

I wonder if they sell those separate from the complete intake?

So does K&N. They have dyno runs shown too. All the HP gains are well above where the average Corvette owner would go on the street in daily use. I don't run my rpm's up above 5 grand except on a very rare occasion. And, I sure as heck don't need the loud sucking noise from the engine compartment.

If you go to Airaid's web site, the parts breakdown w/p-n's is shown. I'll bet that you could order the separate parts.

I installed the Airaid intake (non-oiled) on my 2011 GS.

I had a hard time getting it to fit in place ... The round intake part of the Airaid housing that attaches to the rubber coupler just seemed too long. I had a hell of a time getting in the car.

Once it was installed, everything was ok.

I didn't bother to even use those 2 sheet metal 'wings' that were included.

Seems to be a good system and well made except the inlet section of the housing could be about 1/2" shorter if you ask me ... it's just a little too long for an easy install.

This is the section of the part that should have been made just a little shorter:

I checked into one of the K&N, also. $450.00 for 10 more horsepower? Not really worth it. Plus, I figure if a 12 second quarter mile car that does 180+ mph top end isn't enough for me, I better forget it..........

Would you be interested in selling the two wings along with the two 9 1/2" pieces of weatherstripping with the mounting hardware?

I put one on my 08 and although I think it looks better than the stock unit. I certainly didn't feel a difference.

I know one of the Corvette engineers and I inquired about a horsepower increase and he forwarded my question to the engineer who designed the stock unit. The response was the stock unit is surprisingly efficient and the best you may gain is around 2-4 horsepower.
