Random Light?
Maybe I'm missing the obvious. But my kids were riding with me and they asked me what the orange light by the passenger's sunvisor was for. To them I had no response but does someone have an idea what it is for?

It's referred to as an "ambience light". Its purpose is to provide a small amount of light in the cabin while driving at night. They were installed in C6s until roughly halfway through the 2008 model year.

Ambient light for the console at night. They didn't want folks getting scared in a completely dark cabin.
They did away with it in the '08 model run.

And just so you'll know, that information is
NOT in the 2005 owner's manual. Here is the info. from the 2006 owner's manual:
Quote:
An ambient light is located in the passenger sun visor
clip. This light stays on while driving to keep the
cabin from being too dark.

it's mood lighting to get your significant other warmed up ....
But I believe they did away with it in the later years because they found out it just irritates them and reflects badly off the back of their head.

What!!!!!! ORANGE?!?!?!?! OMG it's supposed to be green.
Park the car immediately and wrap with caution tape and tin foil until the NRC can de-contaminate you and the car.
