I just wanted to share with everyone that I just sold my 2001 MY Coupe today. I'm surprised how quickly I sold it. It only took about 6 weeks. I didn't even have to advertise in this forum. I think I got a decent price for it.
The person I sold it to is a Corvette guy. He actually has a couple of Corvettes. He had to trailer it because I took the plates off and he lives in another state. As I watched the car being taken away, I almost cried! This was my first Corvette which I bought used from Kerbeck 7 1/2 years ago. I remember posting it on here on the forum. This car did not give me an ounce of trouble and I enjoyed many experiences with it.
Now, I look forward to buying a new GS coupe in early spring. I have a certain amount of money that I want to put down and I have to save up for it. The waiting is going to be the hardest part! I can't believe that I'm talking about getting a new one. I didn't think it would happen this soon! It's just strange to not have a Corvette!

I hear ya! Early this year I sold my 2002 Corvette Convertible to my best friend in NY. At the time it was the right thing to do, but damn, did I miss that car! Fast forward... I just purchased (a week ago) a brand new 2012 GS Convertible. Once you have the fever...it's hard to let go! You'll be back in the saddle again...when the time is right!
I hear your pain. Expressing your grief, the loss of your dream, is part of healing, and, eventually, of paving the way to finding and attaching to another dream.... GS all the way! What a wonderful winter this can be for you, planning, learning, anticipating. Look forward to your sharing the arrival of the new baby come Spring.
Very smart to sell first and save for the new one.
So many people would have jumped and financed it instead of waiting and paying cash like you are.
It is harder to wait and go vetteless but you are doing it the right way.
You will enjoy YOUR car more being paid for than driving the banks car for 3-5 years.
