There are lots of threads on shifters in the CF, but I haven't found an answer yet to my dilemma. I want to install a short throw shifter on my 2008 base C6. From what I have read, I would much prefer the MGW shifter. However, I have always liked the feel of the Hurst T-handle and want to install one as part of my mod. Here's my problem, I can buy the MGW with the 9/16-18 threaded shaft (made for C5 OEM), but Hurst only makes the ***** that fit the 9/16-18 shaft. Even Hurst's universal T-handles don't come in this thread size. Other than buying a Hurst shifter instead of an MGW, would any of you have any suggestions on how I could install a T-handle on an MGW shifter? If I buy the MGW, do you think I could rethread a Hurst T-handle to fit it? Thanks
Thank you for your reply Axeman. It's much appreciated. Problem is, it's the hole in the Hurst T-handle that's too small, not the other way around. Unless there's another brand available somewhere that fits a 9/16-18 shaft, I guess I'll have to buy the Hurst T-handle and see if I can have it machined to fit the MGW shifter. I'm kinda disapointed that Hurst's universal T-handle can't even fit a Corvette C5 or C6 shifter.

I see no problem here.
Sorry I could not resist.
Best bet it to drill and tap it to correct size. Any machine shop can do it if you do not want to.
