Default Aspsis gs front splash guards

Got my set from Aspsis last weekend put them on today, took about 5 minutes per side, piece of cake. Looks outstanding and a quality product.

They will also save your paint. One of the first things I put on my 2010 GS - you can feel the nicks on the inside of the splash guards from whatever would have hit the body.

Could you please post some pics of these installed?

How do they attach?

Like every other subject on this forum, some people will say they love them, others will say they are "hideous" and wouldn't drive around the block with them on!!!

Personally, I really like mine. They are an exact match for the rears and really save the side paint....

I bought a set over the holiday. I am a bit worried from some saying that it rubs the paint pretty bad. Can anyone of you guys comment?

Whats worse - rubbing the paint from the guards or rocks hitting the fenders?

Not to take away from the function of them, but I just think they are too large. I am waiting for someone to make ones for the front of a GS that are a bit smaller.

I also just received my set of Apsis guards but haven't installed them yet...(we got a problem with snow here). I need some advice however. It seems to me that it may be wise to install clear bra type material over the area that will be in contact with the splash guards just to avoid paint rub or dust making it's way between the contact services and gringing away. #2, the instructions say it only requires the top screw installed plus the bottom fastening but seems to me that the extra screws furnished may be a good idea... did you install them?
Final point... I'm not sure you could buy just one side if you happened to damage one by hitting a curb, something in the road, etc. .. might make sense to do the paint protection I mentioned above in the event they need to be removed. Thoughts anyone?

With the skirts on the car, you definetely need to have a front splash guard. Also, they do no look as big with the skirts.

I'm just going to use Dr Color Chip. I've seen it used with fantastic results. My GS has almost 6k with no chips on the back yet.

That may work for a few chips but after a while your paitn will be gone on the rear brake duct vents. At that point you simply cant touch up the paint anymore. Up in Utah I would highly recommend at least protecting the ducts with paint protection film.

Ive got mine going on 3 years now. Easy to install and absolutely no rubbing of the paint on the fenders. When I rub the inside of the guard you can feel the pitting on the surface. If not for the guards ...those pits where destined for the rear quarters of the car. I recommend them to everyone I meet. They are also the subject of many discussions at car shows

Mine came with the rubber gaskets on the inside of the guard that comes in contact with the car/paint. Very easy install. I just followed the directions, turned the wheel to one side, removed the bolt on the underside of the body by the wheel well, put the guard on and reatached the bolt I just removed, held it in place and screwed one of the supplied screws into the guard. I dont think you'll need any extra screws to hold the guard(s) on, pretty sturdy install.

I installed my APSIS Front Splash Guards prior to driving my GS for the first time.

I have looked at some GS's and Z06's that have been driven without front splash guards and the amount of road rash adjacent to the rear quarter panel brake duct openings wasn't pretty.

Knock on wood, to date the rear quarters on my GS are paint chip free, "Hats Off" and a big "Thank You" to APSIS for sure...............

Regards,

GSRANDY
