In the oil you are suppose to put it in, run for a few minutes and then change the oil.
I will not put anything in my Corvette's oil that requires me to change the oil after 5 minutes.. Most people change their oil more often then it is really required anyway, I see no point in this.

In the gas, It claims to help keep injectors clean, and improve gas mileage. I have not tried it but from what reviews I have seen on other forums most say it does nothing.

I get 29 to 30mpg on the freeway at 70mph with 430hp, I doubt it will improve that. In my vehicles that are not DDs, I use Sea Foam to stabilize fuel and help keep the injectors or carbs clean. And until they forced all this 10% ethanol stuff on us, I never used any fuel additives, I just started and ran the vehicles regularly.

Carroll Shelby swears by it. And I'm sure he doesn't charge anything for his endorsement..
I would never put that stuff in my engine or gas tank.

Thanks for all the reviews, I agree I don't need more than the 450 hp, don't need more speed, just thought it would actully do what they say as far as lubicating the metal parts within the engine better and help keep the injectors cleaner because of ethanol. Had a Merc outboard that the ethanol just f----- up real good

What does your manual say? It think it says something like 'no additional additives are needed'.

Are we reading on this forum about a lot of failure of 'lubricating metal' parts? I think not.

I tried the Z-Max kit on a couple daily cars, and mileage did move up a percent or two, but you'll need this in the tank every fill up, and just not cost effective. Was also given a Fitch fuel catalyst to try out, and same thing over time. My daily car was a solid 24 mpg average, then eventually moved to 25 mpg with the Fitch. These are about $200 buck's, and no way I'd ever pay that.

I work at a major fuel port that sees deliveries of ethenal weekly. Ethenal is a cleaner in itself, it cleans any pipe walls that it encounters, they say over long periods of time it will eat the inside welds of the pipe. You put that 10% along with the fuel additives like techron from Chevron, or any other additive already injected into gas at the port. In which all gas has to be injected with additive at parts per million before it leaves the port per state law. There is no need to put any injector cleaners or extra additives into fuel. Unless you feel it makes you feel better. Then spend away. ETHENAL= CLEANER

manufacturer's claim:

The only product of its kind, zMAX is
Good for automatic and manual transmissions. Compatible with all motor oils, including synthetic.
The only product of its kind, zMAX is a “micro-lubricant.” zMAX micro-molecules have been reformulated to be smaller than regular oil molecules. This allows zMAX micro-molecules to soak into metal - a product attribute none of our competitors can duplicate and because zMAX can soak into metal, it is able to disperse carbon and other harmful deposits. These deposits are a leading cause of engine damage and inefficient operation...

zMAX begins as pure micro-lubricant. Our proprietary process reformulates the micro-lubricant, altering the molecular structure, creating molecules that are far smaller than those of conventional motor oils. This reformulation process is the key to creating the zMAX micro-molecules that are so small zMAX actually soaks deep into metal. By soaking into metal, zMAX disperses carbon and other harmful deposits inside the engine, protecting your engine from the inside out. Thus, more power, increased mileage, a cleaner engine and fuel system and prevents premature wear on vital engine components.

Your car is designed to perform on the liquids that GM tells you to use. And I can guarantee you, if something goes wrong with your car and you've put some type of additive in it, and they find out, you will probably have someone tell you that your warranty is voided. I wouldn't put ANYTHING like this in a new car.

I remember back in the 60s, someone started a rumor, that if you filled your gas tank with moth *****, it would raise the octane level and make your car go faster.......

I seem to remember that they were fined by the Fed's for false advertising, or something to that effect, years ago. http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/legal/zmaxcomp.html

With synthetic oil why would you need any additives? I do occasionally run Syntec fuel system cleaner but only once a year if that.
