My son is heading off to college this fall to become a Petroleum Engineer and it sounds like there's still quite a demand for them.
I didn't know my thread came back to life !
My degree is in Petroleum Engineering. When I was a Freshman, Pet E's were in BIG demand. When I graduated, oil was $12/BBL. I was VERY lucky to get a job with a yankee pipeline company
and I'm still there.
The oil business is soooo cyclical
3 years ago Pet E's couldn't get a job. Now they are in BIG demand
I'm not that smart, but an engineer nonetheless (BSIE/ME) . It's been a while since my last engineering job, but I practice the ME part doing all the maintenance/work on my bikes and cars .

I am with you. But I find it is getting harder and harder to crawl around, under and in my vette as I get older. BSAgE from OSU 83. Run a NPD team for a heavy equipment mfg. They actually pay me to build big Tonka Toys.
