If history repeats itself the technology for the system that will be in the C7 was designed about 3+ years ago as of today. The C6's system was approximately 5 years old when it finally hit the sales floor.
That being said, don't expect anything cutting edge. It will serve it's purpose, but will still be years behind the cheapest Ford model of the same year.
Personally I think the touch screen systems are getting out of hand. Give me good old fashioned buttons and dials that I can use without looking at (to see which "button" I'm pushing, or what setting the contols are on) anytime.
It will be nice when we're on the next gen (or three) of the voice activated systems, but complicated touch screen, while they look good, are less than ideal.
