Default Emissions Codes Need Help

I am in Calif considering a new 2012 GS that is out of state. The car has NC7 and NE1 emission codes and it also has NU5 which I dont even see listed in the 116 pages of option codes. On the build sheet where it shows NU5 the words "calif emission" are next to it BUT YF5 is the actual Calif emission code (which this car does not appear to have).

Does this meet calif requirements or not? HELP

I believe it has to be a YF5 car.

In a nutshell, the car has to have a "certified for California" emissions sticker from the factory, found on the passenger side edge of the hood, down by the headlight. AFAIK the NE1 cars do have that phrase on the sticker as evidenced by the example shown in this post from a couple years ago.

And, I'm not sure, but I think the NU5 denotes the Calif emissions system on a non YF5 car. Maybe?

Anyway, the easiest thing to do is check the emissions sticker on the car you're interested in. If it says certified for Calif you'll be okay.

Thanks. I guess I can have them take a picture of that sticker. Seems like there would be an easier way to be sure. I thought someone on here would know that NU5 code for sure. Thanks again.
