Any seem to do the same job - I have the factory version and they are hardly noticeable versus some of the bigger (and highly more expensive versions).
agree with hoodscoupe,
GM has great"little ones" which i run on my 09 c6..
look at Apsis website..my old c5 z16 is on there...they were great for that car , but they are pricey...
bud
Anything bigger than the original guards are Mud Flaps. They're hardly evident in this picture and actually make the wheel wells look more "finished" than without. I don't understand why GM doesn't install them on the base coupe/'vert.
In my opinion.....don't buy anything bigger than the GCA guards if you're running wheels with the stock offsets...
Unless you're filling the wheel wells more, the Z06 and aftermarket splash guards are too wide and FAR too apparent when looking down the side of the car.
GM sells very nice splash guards that fit behind the front wheels of the narrow-body base C6, but nothing for the GS or Z06.
What is it .. GM don't think the front wheels on the GS and Z06 kick up rocks and crap like the base models do?
I would buy a set of front wheel splash guards from GM in a heartbeat if they ever made them available.
About those Apsis front wheel splash guards made for the GS / Z06 ... I will pass, thankyou!
It's my understanding that the shape of the wheel well opening is an aerodynamics thing because it was first introduced on the Z06, and then the same shape was used on the ZR1 and GS. Look at how much research and testing goes into little things like the design of the brake ducts. If GM was to make splash guards for the wide body front fenders and they disrupted the airflow the tiniest little bit at 180mph I don't think they would be willing to sell them, even though they would likely sell tons of them.
I've got a set of the GM splash guards, put them on shortly after I bought the car. They look great, not at all noticeable, but they won't stop a rock from pitting your mirror housings or rockers. Guess how I know this....
