Ok so I am expected to pick upo my 08 c6 tonight or tomorrow morning. The original wheels on the car according to the window sticker were chrome aluminum wheels at $1850.00 option.
The original owner traded these for black rampage performance wheels. i think I want to get the original back on it. Anyone have pics of what the optioned wheels look like that came on the car. Its a 4Lt.
thanks
steve
Probably not Gumbys. The Gumbys (RPO QG7) were initially offerd as "Wheels - 5 spoke, forged polished aluminum". They were not chromed; they were polished. It is more likely that your car originally came with the optional RPO QX3 "Wheels - 5 spoke Original Design, chrome aluminum". These were what came on my '08. '08 was the last year for these.
You can easily determine the option code for the factory wheels that came on your car by looking on the sticker on the back left of the glove box door which lists all the option codes which were factory original options on your car.

Reason: Added information.
Early '08s had the same 5 spoke as the '05-'07s, like Razzor shows on the yellow coupe. Later '08s changed to the gumbys.
The early 2008's had the 5-spoke wheels that started in 2005, the only choices were finish: silver paint, comp gray paint, polished(?), or chrome.
After a while, the standard wheel became the split-spokes shown below, painted silver or comp gray; the optional wheel became the Gumby. By 2009, the Gumbys were available both polished or chrome, but I don't know when both finishes became available.
Guys found a set of polished aluminums from an 06. Are these the same as the chrome option QX3 Chrome Aluminum Wheel Original Design that would have come with mine?
I guess what I am sking is whats the difference between polished aluminum and chrome aluminum, i see the option code and price is different, but do they actually look different

Same design? Yes
Same appearance? No
The '05-'07 polished wheels really weren't very good looking. There were many unhappy owners here in the early days. GM tried to appease many by replacing them but nothing changed. They had a reputation for looking "milky", the clear coat dulled, the aluminum wasn't very "polished"---didn't look shiny. They were barely better than the standard silver painted wheels. A few were happy with them but most were not.

This info may not be right. My car went in service 08/2007 and has the chrome Gumby's on it.
