Got a couple of gift certificates for Eckler's Corvette for christmas. I went to redeem them online yesterday but lo and behold you can't use them on their website. It says you have to call. I called, the message said they are closed. I wanted to take advantage of the 10% off sale only good through today.
Anybody have experience with this? Will they honor the discount over the phone? Will they honor it tomorrow because they were closed?
And what's the deal with shipping? $21.49 standard ground for a pair of color keyed door handles that probably weigh 6 oz's? Wow...
Ecklers is notorious for ridiculous shipping charges. I used them years ago for oddball parts for my '69. Not sure what they have that is a good deal for a C6 when you add shipping.
"Shipping & Handling" has now become a profit center for many mail order/online sellers. I recently paid almost $25 to have a replacement air filter element and polo shirt shipped from Callaway. I'm done with the online/mail order routine unless the vendor includes shipping w/ their pricing...!!

Me too. I bought two Callaway T shirts and it was $12.00 shipping. The shirts were only $10.00 each, so I figured it was still a good deal. If they were full price I would have backed out quick.
When it comes to shopping online you must educate yourself about the item you are shopping for. Far too many times while shopping of ebay people will run the price up on a item that can be purchased locally cheaper.
I agree on the absurd shipping charges. I recently bought a skip shift eliminator from a forum parts supplier . It weighs a couple of ounces and the shipping costs were $9.99. It could have been slipped in an envelope and delivered for less than $1.00.
I had to send a shirt back that I recieved for Christmas becouse it was the wrong size. UPS cost was $16 and I'm guessing I will also have to pay return shipping. That is TOTAL BS.
They also increase the prices from their catalog when you go to order. And like was said they quote ridiculous shipping prices. They also wanted to charge me extra for expediting. Needless to say I refuse to order from them anymore.
