C5 brake caliper mounting bracket bolts were supposed to be single-use, replace every time; but most people reused them with blue Loctite.
Looking in my Service Manual (2009 Z51) page 5-102, I see a similar warning.
The common explanation is that GM just doesn't trust everyone to properly clean the bolts and apply blue Loctite. If so, re-using with proper cleaning and Loctite is perfectly safe.
I have never replaced mine. When I remove the caliper I just reapply blue lock tight. I do the same for the caliper bracket bolts too, when I remove them.
As for the Brake Pins, which the caliper floats on, when I remove them, I wipe the grease off, inspect and reapply with high temp grease.
I suspect the replace caliper bolts is a CYA message from GM.

What do you think?
I would not worry about it,I would reuse them, your explanation is plausible. I have machined plenty of bolts and screws and have never heard of any damage that would come by reuse. That said,if it was under a high torque condition, reuse could stretch the bolt threads causing failure.Which on a caliper you have no worries of that happening.
