Just replaced the passenger sunvisor not too long ago on my 2008 vert under warranty after broken mirror cover occurred. I did a search of other forum members who have suffered the same problem(s). I did not come up with the ideal lubricant for these mirror cover hinges and where the mirror covers seem to bind in the center. I am told that an oil base product will destroy the hinge(s) or at the least discolor the plastic. One member has suggested dielectric silicone grease. How does the grease enter the hinges effectively? Any body got any other suggestions? Many thanks
I have used the dielectric grease and applied it with a Q tip. I don't know a way to get the grease completely inside the hinges but it did stop the creaking sound during opening and closing of the visor cover.

I did the same, and also ran the Q-tip along the area where the cover rubs against the hard plastic behind it. The cover still creaks like the door on that old TV show "Inner Sanctum". I wish i could make it quiet but at least it hasn't broken. Of course, we don't use the visor mirrors very often.
