Hello all,
I need to replace my factory front run flats now at 14, 000 miles. I am going to replace them with non run flats. What non run flat tires do you think are best? Appreciate the advice. Kevin
I like run-flats for my car. I replaced the GYs with Michelin PS2 ZP after much research and driving the PS2s on the track at Spring Mountain. I don't regret the decision for one second.

If money isn't a factor:
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 if you dont want run flats.
Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 ZP if you want to consider run flats.
If you're making a lot more power than stock, you might look into NT05's.
In the sizes used by the base C6, the Michelin A/S ZP's are a great choice. I had them on my C5 and was really impressed vs the OE Goodyears. Why are you wanting non runflats over runflats?
With regard to why, I am under the impression (could be wrong) that non run flats ride better, wear better and are less expensive . I was going to carry fix a flat or some such repair kit as others are doing. Any opinions appreciated. Kevin
I put on Michelins A/S ZPs all around.....great tires...much quieter than the OEM GYs. much better ride, too. Also, do an alignment and road force balance right away.
I also debated non- RF but after much research decided against that risk. The ride is very good on the Michelins.
I replaced my Goodyear run flats last May with Firestone Indy 500 Wide Oval non run flats. They are quieter and ride alot better than the Goodyear .Considering Goodyears were $2800 without mounting ,balancing or alignment and the Firestones were $ 1187 everything included out the door it was a no brainier for me.
I just put a set of Kuhmo Ecsta non-runflats on my Base C6 and so far I like them. They definitely ride better then the old Goodyear Eagle Supercars that came on mine...
I just got Michelin PS 2 ZP's to replace the GY Supercars on my Z51, it is like night and day better than the OEM's. No more darting aroung on less than perfect roads, quieter, better traction, and a better ride. Not cheap, around 1800.00 installed but only 100.00 more than the PS2 non run flat and around 400.00 more than the RE 11 which was my second choice. I would give them a serious look.
I have a GS. Just drove it for the first time this weekend with the new Michelin PS2 ZP. No comparison. Drives much smoother, less vibration in the steering wheel, and the wife even commented on how much quieter it is.
I had the Michelin non runflats on my c5 because I wanted a better tire and carried a tire plug and air inflater in the back. Took the chance with the PS'2's this round and no disappointments and I don't have it in the back of my mind the PITA I'm going to encounter if I have a flat.
That being said, I don't drive mine in cold temps, much less a threat of snow.
Replacing just the fronts will cause the rear end to pass up the front end during emergency braking or manuevers. Your car was designed for run-flats with their stiffer sidewalls. Newer generation runflats aren't rough and noisy like your factory tires, and also last longer.

I'm going to replace my stock run-flats this Spring. I'm running non-runflat A/S tires on another set of wheels in the winter months. I'm trying to decide which direction to go, also. Most likely will go with non-runflats. I have been running non-runflats on my C5 for 8 years.
My C6 is my daily driver and I'm currently considering BFG KDW2, Michelin PS2, Bridgestone RE-11, and Bridgestone S-04.
From past experience with KDW tires, I expect them to be a little noisy. The plus side of those tires is I can go 10mm wider (295/35/19 in back and 255/40/18 in front) and the price is right.
On the other end of the price spectrum are the Michelin PS2. I have been running these tires on my C5 for several years and have been very happy with the performance.
From Bridgestone, the RE-11 seems to be a great performance tire for the money but with a bit of tradeoff being noise. The S-04 seems to be a good balance and am currently leaning this way. However, I may change my mind several times in the next 2 months, before pulling the trigger.
