I bought replacement shocks for my 2005 coupe and when I called a local shop in the Houston area I was told that they would not install customer parts and good luck finding anyone to do it. Is this a little unspoken rule for mechanics that I didn't know about? I bought the shocks in the first place because NTB quoted me $1000 just for the shocks. I would appreciate any thoughts or suggestions!
Check a few others, you'll find one. If you have a local Corvette Club, send an email to them and ask, they will be able to tell you a trustworthy place.
While I agree that you can shop elsewhere's as well as DYI, the many reasons a lot of shops won't install customer parts are that they aren't making any money off the parts, overhead is expensive and labor doesn't cover all of it. Many times customers have come back complaining that the part didn't fix the problem, or, something is wrong with the part and expect free labor to replace it. It sounds stupid, but, it happens all the time.
give us a call tommorow morn at CORVETTES OF HOUSTON we will take care of you (and not overcharge you)
many shops will not install customer parts cuz they wanna make money on parts sales or warranty issues and somtimes customer complain parts didnt fix problem etc.

I totally agree that the shops need to make some money but 300% might be a little rich! Not trying to beat anybody out of a living.....but need to make sure I get to keep a little too! A decent markup and a fair labor charge should keep you in business!

Matt. -I might end up calling you guys but I actually live in Fulshear which is about as far from COH as possible in the Houston area. I'm going to try a couple more local shops and see if someone actually does want to work for good money! If not.....I'm going to give you a call! What a super business to offer to help! That's why you've been in business so long!
