Default B&B PRT review

My car came with the NPP setup, but I thought it was too quiet with the flaps closed and too loud to keep them open. So I got a set of the B&B PRT's. They sound really good, the tone is way better than stock. But... they are way too loud. They are louder than my NPP's with the valves open. They don't really drone, just a little bit around 1300 rpm, they are way louder than I would have thought. They are also noticeably heavier than the NPP mufflers(5-10lbs heavier each). Why are they so heavy? I think I will go with the new style Borla Touring or just put my NPP back on.

Put your NPPs back on and spend $25 on some Adjustable Collars. Then you can dial in the exact volume level you are comfortable with.

So the B&B PRT is comparable to Corsa Extreme? I thought it was more like the Sport. Good to know. Good luck.

Thanks for the link, I will definitely consider that.

I can't say for sure since I've never had the Corsas, but I can't even imagine bullets being any louder.

Does the PRT exhaust make the popping sound on deceleration like the bullets system? I really like that...

yep they do. My vette had the regular exhaust not the npps and when I went to the PRTs I went from super sized stock muffers to mufflers 1/4 the size. I didnt weigh them but by size the PRTs look like they have wiegh less. I guess the NPPs are smaller than the stock regular exhaust too. I love my BB headers mid pipes and PRTs. The start up gets everyones attention.

Try this $2 trick on your NPPs

Another B&B question... Is the Fusion in "open" mode much louder than NPP "open". I've looked but can't find a clear answer. I understand that they are about the same "closed".

The PRT do sound very similar to the Bullets, just not quite as loud, and they don;t drone as much, but they do still drone some.

I have Fusions and they are definately louder than stock even in the closed position. However, because I have headers and a cam, it may be an unfair comparison if you are merely bolting them on without headers. I can tell you when I open them up, birds fall out of the trees, and my house shakes when I crank up the motor!!
GREAT MUFFLERS!!

I found them to drone badly with headers. Just my experience with them, which is why I switched to Fusions.

only around 1500 rpms, which Im hardly ever at. Even when on highway Im over that as Im going about 75 to 80 then, so I almost never hear the drone, just the rumble of the egine coming thru the exhaust.

Awesome, I think I have made up my mind on this exhaust. I'm excited!
