How long did your original Battery last ??

So what we have learned is that batteries that sit in cars that are driven very little, in general, will not last as long as they do in cars that are actually used as daily transportation........wow, now that was a shock...

April 2006 here, 23k miles, I keep it driveable throughout the winters and never let the car set more that 2 weeks without either driving or a thorogh garage warm up--never used a tender yet. I plan to replace the battery this spring (6 years) just because.

Four years and still going strong without using a battery tender. Got back from 3 week Christmas vacation and started car 4 weeks after the last time it had been started. Sitting in a mid 30s temp garage for 4 weeks it fired easily with no issues.

seems to be a trend here....
Was brand new ....about 3.5 yrs later... took it in for service, would not start when I went to pick it up...dealer put a new one in... did not cost me anything.

One year. Not driven daily, but 8000 miles before that year old battery took a poop. Leave it sit for three weeks or more, which I did a couple times in that first year, and no matter how many more miles I put on it, dead. Fortunately, warranty replaced at no cost to me.
Tender, since then. If I leave it for a few weeks without the tender, the sucker is a little slow to turn over, but eventually catches. Back on the tender.
17k miles on my 2010, and on my second battery.

2007 Battery put in on 1/2/07 in BG. Now 5 years later the original battery is still in the car. I know that i'm on borrowed time but I think that the tender has helped the life of the battery for sure. FWIW, I had the second battery in my 79 (owned for 27 years) last nine years. The guys at Delco could not believe it...I had forgot how old the battery was but they knew in 10 seconds as that battery had not been made for at least eight years.

My OEM battery made it just over 5 years....replaced it with the same OEM and purchased a CTEK 3300!

4 1/2 years so far, only 11,000 miles of city driving. The car gets started, turned off, restarted 3-4 times a day 5 days a week. Never had a battery problem.
