Rear camera question?
I want to install a rear camera with my new to me kenwood DNX8120.
Looking at the avaliable cameras there are 92 and 170 degree wide angle. Which should I get? Also I'm going to go with color camera and some have night vision, is that worth getting? Is there a problem with night vision if light shines on it at night would it be to bright?
The larger angle you have the more vision you have. Night vision..no.
I don't think you need night vision. I had a rear view camera in my Acura and the reverse lights were more than enough to illuminate the area behind the car at night. If your reverse lights aren't bright enough, maybe LED bulbs would be a cheap fix.
For what it's worth, when I was having my Kenwood DNX9960 installed, both Dennis (C5BearsFan), the CF vendor where I purchase all my A/V from, and my installer Greg (pentavolvo) both said don't spend a lot of money on a backup camera. They are all cheap. So I ordered mine on eBay - probably from China - for about $14 - and it works fine.
Does that Walmart camera work great on the Vette? Is it easy to hook up or do you need to take the radio apart? Also does it works well with the Navigation screen? Last, does it come on automatically when you go in reverse?
Sorry for all the questions, but very interested in this if it is not too much of a hassel to hook up.
