Show me your smoked Tail lights and markers
Trying to talk my brother into smoking his tail lights and side markers on his Vette. Let me know how they were smoked...VHT or black paint/clear coat. Thanks in advance!
Thanks,

When I had my car repainted Jet Black Pearl (metallic), I had them paint the rear and side lights too, blend of body paint and clear coat. Love the look, the light shines through really bright too.

FYI- tinted lenses would be "less safe" than factory. Could be one ticket per lamp covered. Officer could articulate the car is not safe for the roadway and have it towed, depending on light output.
Also any accident report would include notation about "less safe" lighting.
But hey- it looks kewl.

Used same tint Capt Van suggest on my side markers....sorry no pix. Love my taillights, and coupled with the tinted side markers it looks awesome.
I painted the side markers without removing em. Carefully inserted paint tape between the body (sticky side towards body) and the lens and used newspaper for the overspray.
Putting clear coat on afterword gave it some POP. Not home right now or I'd send ya pix of side markers too.

If you want it done right get a hold of steve ray at airbrush, inc Price for all is $225 and he'll pay shipping both ways. he just needs your stock ones back once you receive the tinted ones.....and for the record, these get sanded, then sprayed with adhesion promoter. He then tint them with a diluted mixture of black base coat, add three coats of Dupont automotive two stage clear coat. Once cured, He wet sand and buff all lenses so they are super slick He did mine

This would look good especially on a white car IMHO!
Thanks for all the replies and pictures everybody I've used VHT several times and used a Spraymax 2K areosal clear and they look flawless. This clear is the same stuff sprayed out of spray guns in a body shop!
