Default Window Close when Door Closes

I had my battery replaced last week and since then when I close the drivers door, the window does not come up. It drops the 1/2" when I open the door, but doesn't go back up.

Is there some sort of reset required?

Thanks in advance.

You must re-index your windows. Check it out in the manual. It takes about 15 seconds.

P 217 in the manual . Its called "indexing" Nothing everybody here hasnt had to do at one time or another. But the manual is your friend. OH and theres a trunk release button on the lip above the licence plate where the key hole is LOL sorry I had to do that.

Close the car door. Raise the window and hold the up switch an extra 3 seconds. Release. Without lowering the window, hold the up switch again for 3 seconds. Release. Done. Don't forget the other window.

No, it depends on what model year for the page number. Actually, for a 2007 it is on page 87 in the owner's manual.

Knew about the keyhole under the trunk lip and the pull-cord to open the door to pop the hood!

Interesting that I had to reset the indexing on the windows...didn't lose any radio or NAV data but did lose the window indexing.

Don't really understand that about losing the window indexing, but literally hundreds here have found it to be true. With only a very rare exception, most who did and posted here lost only the window indexing.

It will need to be reset every time you disconnect, then reconnect the car battery.

Purely a guess on my part but it could be that the design engineers thought you might accidentally hold the window button up many times during the life of the car. The radio presets and BCM options and such are stored in EEPROM memory which has a limited number of write cycles before it is damaged. No problem in most cases because how many times do you change the BCM options or radio presets? But the window switch being held up for 3 seconds after fully open might happen regularly. So the memory of where the window up stop is has to be kept in memory that won't self destruct in a few years. That type of memory requires continuous power.
