Nope. Yours?

How cold does it get there?

Gotta have some A6s in colder places, maybe they'll chime in.

Haven't noticed it at temperatures around 20° F.

There's one cold answer.

Mine has not seen below 70.

What do you mean by rough? I've driven ours in temps in the 20's after sitting outside in that temp for a few hours. The engine upshift RPMs are higher initially to help with lighting of the catalysts, so it's not as smooth as when warmed up, but not "rough".

2009 coupe A6 w/performance axle.

The first couple of shifts when cold are a bit rougher than normal; but heck, calling them "rough" is an exaggeration. No one else in the car ever notices.

Been that way for 39k miles, I don't see it as a problem.

I've found that my A6 shifts a little weird until the tranny fluid is about 150 deg. or higher. What mine does when it's really cold at first, for maybe a mile max, is the shifts have a slghtly longer hesitation between shifts. Once it's warmed up it doesn't matter if it's 15 degrees or 80 out. One time I went to the track and it was a cold day in the 30's. We had a long wait between runs and when I went out the shift between 2nd & 3rd took so long I thought the trans was slipping or worse. Scared the crap out of me. However, a couple of other guys there said the fluid was still too cold and the solenoid's work slower. Go out and hammer it again. Now I know what it is and don't expect it to shift right till it's warmed up. By the way, once warmed up, on a 1/3 pedal it shifts fast enough to break a little rubber.

Haven't noticed any upshift issues (30's & 40's here) but love the way it bangs into the lower gears when slowing down.........my A6 feels almost like a M6 at times.

Do some research on PIP 4395.

Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment on a flare or harsh 2-3 shift.

Recommendation/Instructions:
This condition may be caused by leaking 1-2-3-4 and 3-5-R clutch fluid seal rings (230). The following conditions are indications that the fluid seal rings may be leaking:

• Delayed/extended or delayed with harsh feel initial Park to Drive and/or Reverse to Drive shifts, that are more likely to occur when the transmission temperature is below approximately 40 degree C (104 degree F).

• Harsh or flaring 2-3 shifts that are more likely to occur when the transmission fluid temperature is in the approximately 0 degree C (32 degree F) to 40 degree C (104 degree F) temperature range, but can be present at any temperature.

• Harsh 2-3 shifts that are more likely to occur at less than 50% tp.

Vehicles built in the January through August, 2007 time frame are more likely to have leaking fluid seal rings

Important: When inspecting the 1-2-3-4 and 3-5-R clutch fluid seal rings (230) there probably will not be visible signs that the seal rings are damaged.

If any of the conditions above describe the flare/harsh 2-3 shift condition replace the 1-2-3-4 and 3-5-R clutch fluid seal rings (230), DO NOT replace the valve body or TCM.
