Default 2008 Navigation Disc Question

When the 2008's were sold new, did they come with one Navigation Disc or two? The '08 I just bought did not have any discs, so the dealer got me a replacement. However, he only gave me one disc. When I questioned the lack of the other disc, he told me that when they were sold new, they only came with the disc pertinent to the area in which they were invoiced. Is this correct or is he just trying to get out of getting the second disc? You would think that since he found me a disc from 2007 instead of a new one, he would have at least have gotten both dics.

The earlier sets did contain 2 discs as my 09 did. The newer sets only contain 1 disc, as I understand. If they gave you a new, latest version, the single disc should have all the data that the older 2 disc sets have.

If he gave you a single disc from an older set he is BS'ing you and owes you another disc. When new ALL the earlier C6's with NAV came with 2 discs in a sealed set.

They came with 2 disks (first year for the 2 disk version).

Here's a reference thread just for FYI:

I just looked, and my used 08 coupe has 2 discs, one for East and one for West.

Pretty sure 2007 Nav discs were only 1 disc. Check the disc labels , if yours say East or West, then it's a 2 disc set.

I thought so. The one I have is marked "West". I believe he bought a disc from a salvage yard because it is dated 2007. The worst part about all this is I contacted GM because this is supposedly a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle and their rep told me the same thing, only one disc. But then again, the rep also told me there was no "Bumper-to-Bumper" warranty either.

If the disk he gave you is V8, as listed on the edge of the case it came in, then it's a new single disk with all maps. As the others have said, if the DVD says east or west in the title, then you are missing one disk.

The case is marked Version 4.0 and so is the disc. The date on the disc is 2007.

The case that my 2008 discs came in is not marked with the date or the version number. However, both of the DVDs say it's Version 4.00. The lettering at the top of one of the DVDs says "United States/Canada-West," while the other DVD says "United States/Canada-East."

The DVD also has in smaller letters: "©2007 Denso Corporation" and "©2006 Tele Atlas North America, Inc.".

Mine has the same lettering on the disc as JimTN, however I only have the "West" disc. I'll just add it to the list of other problems.

That's a funny line though...cars came with only the disc for the area that they were invoiced to...that's just laughable BS. In 2007, it was version 3 and was one disc. In 2008, the advertising in the NAV system (POIs) got too big to fit on one disc, so it was divided up and put on two, east and west. This is version 4. New C6s have always come with NAV disc or discs that covered the entire country.
