I bought my 2009 c6 sight unseen and had it shipped from North Carolina to western Colorado last month. I paid with a wire transfer - I would not recommend it unless you REALLY trust the seller. Contracted with Ship A Car to ship it - they never picked up the car for two weeks. Tried Nationwide and they sent a great driver with a lot of experience with high end cars. Arrived without a scratch. Seems to me the shipping companies are just agents for private hauling contractors, so it's a crap shoot. Make sure you specify a covered trailer. If you buy sight unseen from a private party, have the seller take it to their local Chevy dealer and have them do one of their Certification Inspections on it and send you the report. Cost $77 in North Carolina. That worked well for me. In the end, it was a scary process, but I ended up with a gorgeous low mileage car at a great price.
