Is it possible to just change out the headlamp plastic lens cover not the assembly?
Someone backed into my drivers side lens and its got a scratch on it, that cant be removed. I'd really liked to replace the lens housing and keep the headlamp assembly...Or do I have to bite the bullet and get a whole new assembly?
How much for someone elses dishonesty?

It's a pain to DIY but if you're handy and patient you might be successful. Several instructions and hints are available around here.
If you want to send the light to someone to do it then I suggest either member RLSebring or East Coast Performance. Here are a couple posts with their info if you want to contact them.

"In honor of jpee"
but aside from that, the OP's thing on dishonesty, honestly, it's a supposedly tough thing to get the two apart. think: technique over brute force in both dis- and re-assembly. that's why there's two vendors who do it.

Thanks Rick T
The lens and housing will separate but you need a lot of heat and patience. The lights are not like others. Many here have changed their lens with varing degrees of diffieculty. GM uses 3 different adhesives to bond the lens and housings together. That determines how easy or hard the job will be.
You can DYI or send them to me to do for you when your're ready.
