So, you will leave the junk in the garage and park a 70k car outside? I see this all the time up here and I just can't figure it out. Nice cars sit out in the snow and junk sits in the garage.
Maybe it's about time to build a shed or covered patio? Maybe some shelves and cabinets in the garage?
I bet you can find a way to rearrange things to make it fit. Sounds like a fun project.
If it were me the wife's car would be out in an instant. If that won't work then I think a lighter color vette would be fine to be parked outside, less prone to sun damage. White or silver
I have my sights set on a 2012 Centennial Grand Sport...but the problem is this: I don't have any more garage space.
What is in the garage that is more valued than a new 2012 Centennial Grand Sport? My (new) 2011 Coupe is at the top of the "keep it in the garage" list.
Thanks for the quick responses! Yes, I have a 3 car garage, but unfortunately it is full! My wife has her car on the 2-car side, and then we have a fridge, bookshelves, bicycles, microwave, etc, etc that effectively takes up a lot of space. On the smaller 1 car side, I have my workbench, gym, assorted things, and motorcycle. I may go ahead and pull the trigger and stop worrying. I'll invest in a good cover for when I won't be driving...although this Corvette will become my daily driver. Thanks again for the honest (and fast!) input. Regards!
Before you buy the Vette, you should ask yourself one question. What is more important and valuable, the Vette or the stuff you have stored in your garage.
Personally I think the intention of a garage is to park a car in, not store stuff.
I see this in my neighborhood, most of us have 3 car garages and you see them park in the driveway, when I drive by and the garages are open they are filled up with crap.
I have a bench and generator cabinets etc and have room for my vette, my Jeep and my Harley, bicycle etc if I had to get another car in, I could re arrange a little and fit one.
I have 2 cars, AND my ¾ ton GMC Crew cab, AND 3 motorcycles in my garage!
Also cabinets, a workbench, many shelves, air compressor, floor jacks, and a large shop-vac on the floor.
If I can make room, you can.
I don't know about Tampa but if you lived here in Vegas I would advise against parking outside. The sun is so hot here in the summer that in no time it would turn a cover into ash and start working on the paint like a blow torch. Looking around at cars in traffic you can tell which one's don't park in a garage. The paint on every surface that faces up is faded and peeled. They look like this.
Thats how paint looks after being washed at an automatic brush car wash they use acid and the brushes wear of the clear coat.

If you do park it outside - remember to protect the interior with a good product like Aerospace 303 on the vinyl and leather. Plenty of info on the forum on that subject. Mine sits out a lot - no fuss after 3 years.
Good comments all, and yes, the most logical solution is the clean out the garage course of action. Unfortunately, my wife has her new car in there (and it costs a lot more than the Corvette), and she uses much of the wall space for bookshelves (she has her second law office in our home). I can move my motorcycle over toward the center with some creative rearrangement, but the Vette (nor my wife's car) won't fit on my one-car side. The garage is recessed on the one car side, and being several feet shorter, the Vette just won't fit. That's why I asked about the Corvette's durability while sitting out. I did actually receive several responses that answered that question. Thanks for the responses...appreciate the input! What a great dilemma to have eh? park the Corvette in or out of the garage! Regards...A06
