My 2005 coupe won't start! FOB works, dash lights come on, but engine just clicks. Put battery on charger, but still won't start. Is it ok to jump start it? I have AAA but hesitate to call because it would cost extra to tow to my mechanic.
Instructions on jump starting are in the manual....let it charge for a bit and if that doesn't work jump start and drive to local auto parts place that will do a free battery check..like Advance or Autozone etc...
Thx. Gave charger a chance. Read about taking neg connect off for 5 min and trying again. Has anyone used Yellow Top battery and Priority Start with success?
If you have the yellow top Optima battery it has to be handled in a special way unlike a normal lead acid battery to charge it back up. Go to the Optima site, do a search and they have a tutorial on the special way you need to do it.

Even if you revive your battery, you will almost certainly need a new one soon. Probably VERY soon.
But first you need to find out what killed your battery. Otherwise, this might happen again and again and again...
Might help to us to know more about you & the car. For instance, you must park in reverse-gear on a stick-shift (05 only) or you'll drain the battery.
Also, if you take mostly short trips and/or drive infrequently, your battery is headed for an early death. A good battery maintainer (like a CTEK) might solve the problem.
The red and yellow top optima batteries appear to be very good, but for the price you can buy 2 batteries over the course of 6 - 10 years and break even. There would have to be a very special reason to go out and spend that kind of money IMO
