Default Slimline Number Plates

I have noticed that all the number plates I have seen in various photos are quite large which makes them awkward to mount on the front of a Corvette, not to mention spoiling the clean look of the front end.

Luckily in Australia we can purchase small size plates which fit easily in the front grill area. My plates are only 250 mm x 95 mm (9.8" x 3.7")

I know that not all states require front number plates but for those of you that do you might want to work on your legislators to give you some nice plates.

Our rego department charges $30 extra for the "slimline" plates, that might give them incentive!
We get regular plates in slimline as well as custom plates. They are also available in alls sorts of colours.

My plates are just cable tied onto the grill.

That's neat. You barely can notice that plate. I'd love it if we could do that here in the states but I doubt our government would ever go for that.

Great idea! And the politicians here should be falling over themselves getting them approved. $30 extra for the government for a plate with less manufacturing cost? How could they pass that up? I'd be sending an email to my representatives right now if I didn't register my Corvette in a state that doesn't require front plates.

That is the second best option I have seen yet.
Not as good as the option our Province gives us, well actually it isn't an option, there is no such thing as a front plate.

Beautiful Corvette. A small plate could be an additional income source for our broke States.

Yep, right hand drive. I have a thread on it here

You can't buy a Corvette in Australia so I had to import it. By the time it was converted and all the taxes paid it cost me double what you guys pay! The good thing is that you hardly ever see another one on the road.

The light on the side of the fender is an indicator light which is a legal requirement here. There are all sorts of little tweaks like the that have to be done, for instance the side marker lights are illegal here so they have to be deactivated, which of corse is easy but many of the other changes are not.

I'm planning on getting some clear side markers which should match the side indicator lights nicely.

I really like that plate idea and would see it as an acceptable solution if it could be available here. Almost made to order for the C6. BTW, your car is a knock-out!!
