Default Buzzing sound...

Ok, so when I get to highway speeds 75+ mph... not all the time, but sometimes I hear what sounds like a piece of tape flapping on a fan... sounds like its coming from by the center speaker.. It isn't the sound system because it does it when it is off... Its a buzzing sound. I have wacked the dash a couple times and it didn't change anything... it sounds exactly like a playing card on a bicycle with a pin on the spokes ....

anyone have this?

It's probably your hard rubber cowl vibrating in the wind. Mine did it only in the winter, and only in crosswinds. I sealed it with silicone sealer, and no more problems. If your car is still under warranty, the dealer may be willing to replace your cowl.

It is the cowl cover at the base of the windshield. Just replaced mine ('08 coupe) a couple weeks ago. I ordered the part from PartsTaxi and did it myself. It took about 30 minutes. The part cost $98.82 including shipping. Officially it's known in GM parlance as: "Air Inlet Grille Plenum Panel - GM part # 25778761.

Could there be something stuck in the vent area beneath the windshield wipers. Just pop the hood and take a look.

Thanx JScott and vetteright! I've been going nuts trying to figure out where the beehive is....thought it was the Onstar receiver.
