Go out to start my car the other day while it's sleeping for the winter. Shut it down, push the button to open the door...nothing happens, the door won't open. I had to push the door locks button first, then I was able to open the door and get out. Never happened before but now it still does this.

First-off, are you on a battery tender?

How long has it been sleeping? What year? How is it sleeping in regards to battery charge? Do you have a tender on?

2007-Yes, I do have a battery tender and I start it once a month. New battery this past summer and this is what I've been doing the past 4 winters and never had a problem.

First thing to do, disconnect the battery. After a few minutes, reconnect. Force the ECM to reboot.

IF any data whatsoever decayed due to prolonged inactivity? An ECM (computer) behaves very weird. Rebooting's solved a LOT of very strange stuff with the C6. Try it, it's the least expensive first step towards troubleshooting this issue.

You do know, I trust, that the fob battery needs to get replaced on average every 3 years; some last longer, some last less. Walgreens pharmacy stocks them; very inexpensive.

You also know about the emergency door release lever on the floor between the door and the seat, don't you?

Interesting between my 05 I had and now the 07 never had a problem like that. I do not start my car; it is sitting in garage tender on from Nov- late March.

Possibly you just have an electronic hiccup. The best and cheapest attempt fix is to disconnect battery wait a few minutes and rehook. Sometimes that acts as a reboot. I would do that only after I knew my battery was up on full charge to begin with!

FWIW my 05 was a well know DBS car but that was a different battery type problem. That taught me to always leave it in garage with a window down under car cover so I could get in easy in case another DBS issue occurred.

Negative.
Again, wait a few minutes alllowing computer memory clear (discharge). Reconnecting automatically reloads programming.
I suspect, and hope, your problem evaporates.

Let us know if it did/didn't rectify the problem(s). *Must* rule-out what it isn't, first.

I'm having a problem with the FOB's opening the doors. New batteries in the FOB's and a brand new car battery. The door lights blink, but the door will not open unless several attempts are made. Any ideas ? Mine is an 2008 standard coupe.

Does ths happen with BOTH doors? How about opeing manually, visa vi the touch pad(s)?

IF it's happens with only ONE door manually? Sounds *like* a defective touch pad. Easy check for this is swapping driver's & passenger door pads. Two screws remove each. Swap & reattach.

IF it's a bad touch pad replacments are easily attainable & among the least expensive fixes on a Corvette.

I know that. Any type gremlin is possible so by leaving a window down IF a entry problem occurs you can get in easy without using the trunk/hatch key. Just passing that on to the troops here!

I had to get out a couple times by hitting the inside release, like I said I had two years of battery type problems and saw/learned a lot.

Its with BOTH pads. They were changed out once already. I DID find in another thread, that I replaced my batts in the FOB with Ray O Vacs (no-no) so will try a different brand later today. Thanks for your input.

By searching the threads here on C6, I learned that a Ray-O-Vac battery has a raised surface (checkering) on one side. THAT is suppose to be a bad thing for our FOB's.
I just bought 2 new EverReady batts, it appears to have helped opening the doors, but the passenger door is still not 100%. Guess that doors keypad is faulty -again. I have replaced both sides once already. Do they make a Made in USA pad ? The original and the replacements were made in Mexico.

Ever so often I have to push the door unlock button and then the door open button works. To me it's not a big deal, so I haven't tried to find out under what conditions causes it to happen.
