I just installed a DSV Auto shift ****. Running into a problem. When I shift into park and then try to go back into gear the shifter releases without me having to step on the brake. When I put it in park and push the shifter to the left I heard a faint click and then pressing the brake is required to move the shifter out of park. If I reinstall the old shift **** everything works fine. Dont see any differences in the guts of the 2 *****. Any thoughts?
I am noticing that the white piece that gets pushed down by the button has more play in the old **** and actually touches the leather. The new one has about 1/16 inch gap between the white piece and the leather. Looks like the white piece has a lip on the bottom that prevents it from moving to the same position as the old one. Think its worth trying to shave it down with a dremel?
Want to put up some pics or a detailed description to help others?
Of the **** replacement or what I dremeled? I am going to order a shift boot now and once I get it I will have to remove the **** again and I can illustrate then with pics. This just took me 3 hours to install, as I wasted 2 of them trying to figure out what was wrong, Time for dinner now, and some rest.

The Dremel work. Like you said, it would have been nice if the pics were in that other post so if you can post pics to illustrate what needs to be fixed and how to fix it that would certainly be helpful. Congrats for figuring it out and TIA for anything you can contribute to the cause.
