Default Black-0ut Problem

I got a blackout kit from RPI and when I installed it I got one of the light covers a little off center. How can I get it off and reinstall it? I tried pulling it off as soon as I put it on, but, no soap. Will a hair dryer and dental floss work. Also, does anyone have an idea where I can get the double sided tape that hold the lens cover on.

I use Velcro on mine so that you can take them off to clean inside or adjust. Any solvent that won't hurt the plastic or paint will work.

Using heat alone should allow you to loosen the covers enough to pull them off, just take your time when doing it. I've seen the double side tape at Lowe's hardware, I would recommend the velcro tape as well for the application.

Thanks for the Velcro idea. I got the darn thinks stuck on the now. I never thought of dirt getting under them, but, as I think of the way they glue on, I guess it could.

I use the Red 3m gel tape available at most hardware stores, I have to remove mine at least once a year for the vehicle safety inspection, I use fishing line to remove, than clean the lens, clean the blackouts, cut and place a new 1" square piece of gel tape, than reapply the blackout cover.
The actual gel tape is clear, the backing paper is red giving the appearance of the red roll, for removing residue left by the tape, I just use my finger, rubbing back and forth, comes off easily. I've been using this for the past 4 years, no problems, the only time I lost a blackout, I got lazy, ran out of gel tape and used the foam double stick tape, meant to replace quickly, well on my way to home Depot...pop! lost one, Now I have a second set, (Minus one), live and learn...

Whew!!!!!!!!! had me worried. I thought you were going to say you blacked out because of the g forces upon maximum acceleration in your C6.
