I bought an 07 3LT coupe this past September (my 2nd Vette) and have noticed that the gear indicator in the shift boot (the PRNDL thingie) isn't lighted. It's not a big deal, but I wonder if it's supposed to be. Seems like for driving at night it would be handy.
If the indicator is supposed to be lighted any tips on how to get to the bulb to check/replace it? I'm guessing it's not on its own fused circuit (haven't checked the fuse diagrams in the owner's manual).
I removed the console in order to remove the shift boot and PRNDS indicator. I don't remember much about the light, but you will have to go through this in order to gain access.
Here is one of the pics I took that may be of some help:
I also have a 07 3LT and the gear indicator was lit untill last week, planning on installing color matched console trim next week so I will check it out then.
Thanks guys, this info is a great help and much appreciated. Now I know the gear selector should be lighted and what the innards look like below the boot.
lownslo, hope you find out what killed your light and can pass that along when you upgrade the console trim. Might help me with mine. Good luck with the work.
