Default Seat belt question

I have a 2010 GS that I have recenty switch my seats to
Cravaggio datona seats. Now my airbag lights are on. I have
Connected everything even the resistors that it came with.
One thing I notice was that the passenger seat had a plug
That connected to the seat belt. The caravaggio seats did not.
I'm wondering if this is the reason fir my airbag lights being
On. Can someone tell me what that plug is for and what it does.
Is there a way to reconnect that back to the caravaggio seats.

Did you mount the new seats on your old seat rails???

It's been a couple years since I've had my seats out working on them, and I can't recall exactly what that wire/plug you're talking about is.

However, I think it's to the Hall effect sensor that sends info to the SDM (inflatable restraint system "Sensing and Diagnostic Module") about fore/aft seat position in order to determine at what strength to deploy the front airbag. It may also be for the passenger seat belt switch that illuminates the seat belt icon on the IPC if the seat belt isn't fastened when a passenger is in the seat.

Depending on your trim level, there are connectors for:
  • the power seat adjuster motors
  • the PPS (Passenger Presence Sensor) that turns the passenger airbag system on/off depending on whether somebody is in the seat or not
  • the heated seat elements and the control module
  • the lumbar and bolster bladder control and its control module
  • the side airbags (which I guess you don't have in the new seat, as you said you connected some "resistors" that came with the seat that probably simulate the side airbags)
  • the seat belt pretensioner circuit
  • and as I already mentioned, the seat position sensor and the seat belt switch.
So....there's a plethora of wire harness connectors, plugs, sensors, modules, switches, etc. associated with the seats.

I wish I could tell you what the problem is, but if you used your old seat rails with all that stuff already attached, you should be able to connect the plug up to same connector it was attached to previously.

Without side airbags, I'd recheck those "resistors" to make sure they're connected properly.

Did you put your old PPS into the new seat, or did it come with one installed??? If it didn't come with one, that could very well be your problem if you didn't install the one from your old seat. If it did, make sure its sensor module is connected properly.

Good luck!!
