Default FANTASTIC NEWS about my 2012 order

Yesterday I posted about my order being stuck at 1100 status for 3 weeks. I really appreciate all the suggestions and comments. But, apparently my dealer did have an allocation (or one magically appeared), and/or the emails the salesman sent worked. My car is at 3000 status!

From http://www.chevrolet.com/ordertracking

Final order documentation is on its way to the factory, where the assembly line is being prepped, materials are being ordered and production is being scheduled. Once in production, your vehicle will continue down the assembly line where it will receive the quality manufacturing that makes it a Chevrolet. Check back soon to view your vehicle’s most recent status.

From http://chevroletconnects.com

Event Date Event Status
02/03/2012 (1100) Order placed at dealership. Order passed GM edit tables but dealer has not received allocation to place order.
02/03/2012 (1102) Order entered via web.
02/22/2012 (2000) Order accepted by GM. Dealer used allocation to place order into production.
02/22/2012 (2500) Order preferenced. Order pulled to the production system.
02/22/2012 (3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway.

FYI - After your car is completed the next step is geting it shipped to your dealer. Once the dealer gets the papers from GM (I am not sure what they call it) it will have an est shipped date on it. My est date to the dealer was 2/17 and it arrived on 2/17. When you reach code 4150 your dealer has the papers. Also, they must have 11 cars on the truck going in your direction before they shipped. Hopes this helps you in your wait.

Congrats!!

Are you doing the buyers tour as well so you can see it being built? Also did you know that for a fee the Corvette Museum can do a photo album of you Vette being built. It is the only way to get pics of your car being built.

I'm afraid that if I watched them build it, I might distract them with questions, and they'll forget to tighten my nuts!
