Here we go again...
Of course there was all the complaint about the interior quality, steering feel, brake feel, seat comfort, etc, and the terrible wet weather traction of the Vette. As an owner of both 911's and Vettes, and current GS owner, I'll buy the fact that the Porsche interior and steering feel is better, but not that much, and the braking is pretty even, regardless of feel. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but for nearly DOUBLE the cost, shouldn't the Porsche's interior quality be better? Shouldn't the steering feel be a bit more refined? Brake feel too? And wet traction, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 911's engine right over the rear wheels, which certainly helps? I haven't driven the new 911 yet, and from what I hear from a good friend that sells them, it's a big improvement from the previous 911, so I'm sure it's a great car. The 911 used also was equipped with the optional 7 speed PDK transmission, while the Vette was a manual, so here we go again comparing unlike vehicles. The GS compared well in performance, at half the cost, while I'm sure a ZO6 or ZR1 would demolish the 911, still at far less cost, but we'd still get the complaints I'm sure, haters gonna hate. Bottom line, let's compare apples to apples, the guy that wants a 911 will buy the 911 regardless, as will the guy that wants the Corvette, so unless we're comparing performance numbers only, what's the point, since they're in different price leagues altogether? For me, the GS is a great car, better everyday driver and weekend warrior at far less cost, I can live with a little plastic inside.

I would bet most Porshe buyers always wanted one if those.
As far as the journalists go, they have always been saying the same things, and are afraid of looking like hypocrites, if they change their tune.
That's not to say that the Corvette couldn't use a better interior...
But I agree. Who really cares. It's plenty comfortable for the money.
the ls3 engine in every situation be it from a start or a roll will obliterate the 911.
i have raced many in mexico in stock vs stock form before i had any modification done to my car. and once i shifted into third gear in the vette it was bye bye for the 911.
i love porsche fan boys that like to rev there 3.6 liters at the light... usually when they hear the sound my heads and cammed ls3 makes back at them there face turns red and they back off.. man i love my 6.2
Shows the value of the PDK transmission, as the Porsche is down 36 horsepower and down way more torque, and only weighs 120 pounds less.

please dont quote magazine tests and paper results... like i said i have REAL world experience and alot of it.
in a light to light race of 500 feet or less then it will be somewhat close only if the c6 driver spins the tires alittle to much. the porsches's womenly torque wont let it burn those unessary large tires it has which gives it a better launch against the average c6 driver. Now have a race from a 40 roll and that porsche starts to fade away very quickly
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
99.9% of the forum members find reason to defend the Vette and reasons why
it is better than the 911. Unfortunately the magazine editors disagree and probably 99.9% of the 911 owners agree with the magazine editors.
If you like what you have enjoy it, no way are you going to convince Motor Trend, Car and Driver or any other magazines the GS is better than the new 911.

1- The porshe is a CARRERA 911 "S" not even a regular 911!
2- If you are going to compare a $140,000 porshe at least be fair and use a $120,000 vette which would be a ZR1 apples to apples!!!!!

Every time a comparison appears in one of the magazines, everyone gets wound up. Who cares what they say. I have a Vette and I enjoy every minute I'm driving it. That's all that matters.
The outcome was no surprise. But for me, and I suspect the vast majority of the US population (and most likely the rest of the world), the Porsche could be a million times better than the Corvette and that fact, whether objective or subjective, would still be irrelevant because the price of the car makes it unattainable.

If I was the OP I wouldn't worry about what the magazines say.
