Mysterious clicking noise coming from dash.
Hey everyone,
For some reason I have this clicking noise coming from the dash on my '05 Vette. Sometimes it happens on its own and also whenever I apply electrical power like the hazard lights. The sound is coming from the air vents right on top of the radio. Any ideas on the cause/source?

Both my 05 and my 2011 have clicking sounds when I put my foot on the brakes, when I open the doors, when I put in acc mode and a few other times. I just chalked it up to normal.

Both the brake and emergency lights activate different flasher units located under the dash. Those units will emit a clicking noise similar to your turn signals. Other clicking may be heard as a result of various relays being activated by using other features on your car. Sit in the car sometime with the ignition off and listen to the noises it makes as the eight computers in the car shut down and go into sleep mode".

It is probably the brake relay. See if it happens when you push/release the brake pedal. The relay itself is behind the pax foot well near the fuse box there. They have a new part # that is quieter. There is a TSB on this issue. The TSB is on this forum somewhere that lists the part number and everything. Just search brake relay clicking noise.
Here is one answer to a previous thread.
"I took mine back in this morning. Dealer said there is a tech bulletin on the clicking relay. It's #08-05-22-007A. It says the noise is the only concern but does recommend checking for part number 12193606 on the relay. It it has that number it says don't change it."
