How often?

Back when my mom was working and making good money, she would always let the dealer service her Mercedes. One time she asked me why it cost so much to maintain her car. I looked at the receipts and the dealer was changing her brake fluid every year, or less! I asked to see her owners manual for the service intervals. I told her the dealer was ripping her off and doing work they didn't need to do just to charge her alot of money. She continued to bring it to the dealer and let them overcharge her... until she got laid off. Then she said to the dealer enough of the funny business and just do what needs to be done.
I have a mechanic friend who works for Ford. While getting an oil change on my wife's mustang, we began to talk about the different fluids in my 2009 Corvette.
Even though the antifreeze is supposedly good for 5 years/150,000 miles, I told him I wanted to replaced it, which he agreed.
I asked him about my brake fluid. After looking at it, and considering the car is three years old, he said to replace it. He also recommended DOT 4 because of the higher boiling point.
Bottom line: The fluids are the lifeline of your Corvette. A little preventive maintenance will go a long way IMHO...
