Is there a flash updates for 2008 auto trans shift? Mine has at low speeds sometimes a confusion of what gear to be in. Like slowing, turning a corner and for a second wants a too high gear and starts to shift up and then downshifts down to the proper gear and such. Nothing serious but annoying. I'd love to get it 'tuned' but have warranty I don't want to jeopardize.
Well, the L680 transmission in these late model Corvettes is really a pretty strong and dependable unit, but your right ... shift quality during normal driving is not great, and the tranny seems to always be hunting for a gear (you really never know what gear it's in).
I fixed all these problems with a Chuck CoW transmission tune on my 2011 GS (A6).
Made a real big difference, and I am happy.
Hope this don't turn into a "warranty thread" ... I know ... I know
I love to have a engine, trans 'tune' but have factory power train and GMPP on the car. At this point I don't want to gamble that. Curious if any factory updates. I know I'll need to pick on a Chevy dealer ultimately. Just curious if any forum members know if there are any.
See CHUCK at CORVETTES OF WESTCHESTER,a forum vendor. He does upgrades and people seem to rave about the changes he makes.Other then that, buy a 2012 and GM made changes there while in sport mode.
Maybe. Updates are usually incorporated in newer models. Either way I'll start bugging Chevy dealer. See if any one there knows how to search for flash updates. It is nice to know it was a big improvement on your 2006. My 2006 the low speed shifts were better then this 2008.

To bad they can't up date the software to what they did for 2012 autos.

According to GM,the update they did on the 2012 auto tranny cars is not available for earlier year Corvettes.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment on a flare or harsh 2-3 shift.
Recommendation/Instructions:
This condition may be caused by leaking 1-2-3-4 and 3-5-R clutch fluid seal rings (230). The following conditions are indications that the fluid seal rings may be leaking:
• Delayed/extended or delayed with harsh feel initial Park to Drive and/or Reverse to Drive shifts, that are more likely to occur when the transmission temperature is below approximately 40 degree C (104 degree F).
• Harsh or flaring 2-3 shifts that are more likely to occur when the transmission fluid temperature is in the approximately 0 degree C (32 degree F) to 40 degree C (104 degree F) temperature range, but can be present at any temperature.
• Harsh 2-3 shifts that are more likely to occur at less than 50% tp.
Vehicles built in the January through August, 2007 time frame are more likely to have leaking fluid seal rings
Important: When inspecting the 1-2-3-4 and 3-5-R clutch fluid seal rings (230) there probably will not be visible signs that the seal rings are damaged.
If any of the conditions above describe the flare/harsh 2-3 shift condition replace the 1-2-3-4 and 3-5-R clutch fluid seal rings (230), DO NOT replace the valve body or TCM.
Have no flare. No slow engagement. Found a TSB pertaining to low speed kinda confused shifting etc. It says Corvette,Cadillac and something else from 2006 to 2009 or such. Full page describing pretty well what mine does. Then at the bottom of the TSB it says NO REPAIR NEEDED. NORMAL OPERATION! BS! LOL. Wonder who does 'tuning' in greater Atlanta? vengeance racing?

Before you do anything radical, get the transmission fluid level checked. On my 06 A6 F55 NAV, it was havings some minor shifting problems for several years, it would shift funny once in awhile. A quality Corvette vendor who knows Vettes drove my car and here is what he game up with. He noticed that the car was not normally shifting as smooth as it should, very slight stumble (very suttle) in his mind. I made a note of this because I was to be visiting a stealership in the next week on a differential problem. I brought the transmission shifting problem to them and asked that the fluid level be checked. Well, long behold, the level was checked off the ground on the lift rack and running through the gears as given by GM techical instructions, the transmission level plug in the bottom of the pan was removed and bubbly fluid came flowing out. Well, simply, the transmission was OVERFILLED from the factory causing bubbles in the fluid which definitely affected the transmission valve body responses. We bled the fluid off until there was still a slight flow because of some bubbles remained in the fluid. The good news, the transmission has shifted correctly ever since, not even one skip. It has worked perfectly ever since.
TIP: Get that fluid checked before you let any tuner mess with your transmission. Could be that simple!

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
