Congratulations! What options did you order with your car?

There is going to be a lot a GS's rolling into the forum in the next 6 weeks.

Go watch them build it. It will make you appreciate the car so much more, and for a few hundred bucks!? I did, and I am glad I did. Priceless experience, and one of my fondest memories of owning a 'vette.

I don't care what kind of excuse you can come up with for not going, whether money, time-off, whatever. If you can physically do it, AT ALL POSSIBLE, do it, and I promise you will thank me.

You don't have to do museum delivery, but watching them build it, meeting the workers, possibly the plant manager, having all your questions answered and curiosities satisfied by THE source, watching YOUR car be built and seeing how it all works/goes together--it's so incredibly wrong that dealerships do not push this option harder.

ordered the 1lt with chrome wheels, glass roof. Took an identical one for a test drive. Drove it over to where I work (Advanced Engineering Center bld.) at Ford Research and Engineering, drove it right into our ground floor garage and let everyone check it out. My manager loved it.

Car guys are car guys. I love the new Boss and if I had the money would have it and about 15-20 other cars, plus an equal number of motorcycles. Just a cash poor Jay Leno at heart.

BTW. Congrats on the new vette. I love that color. Had a MY for 10 years and strongly considered getting another yellow but I also love black, so went with that color, this time.

Yes, I heard about the plant tour, I'm planning on doing that. Though they told me that there's the possibility of a schedule change on the build date which I'm already aware of since I work in the Auto industry. As for the Mustangs, I can't complain, very nice vehicles, in fact sales of all Ford products pay my salary and afford me the opportunity to purchase the Vette. Always wanted a vette and there's no competition to the Vette like there is with Mustang, Camaro and Challenger in there own class. The Vette is in the category with BMW, Ferarri and the likes (Exotics) in which Ford does not make unless you want to drop $150,000 for a Ford GT which we only made so many of them for about 2 years.
My opinion is the Corvette has the best styling and affordability in it's class. Can't wait folks, minutes seem like hrs., days like weeks, weeks like months...LOL I have it bad

Good call! You won't regret it. It's absurdly cheap considering the time you have your own tour-guide.

Congratulations and welcome to the world of Corvette ownership and to the Corvette Forum.

As others have stated, if at all possible go to the factory and watch your car being built - it's a once in a lifetime experience not to be missed !!

I'm sure you'll luv and enjoy the Vette, but I have to ask...since you are a Ford employee, what about a 2013 Shelby GT500? Do you have any chance to buy or offer access for friends and family?
