Default Rear Camera Problem

I have noticed now that my rear camera goes dim whenever I hit my brakes. I let up off the brake and the brightness returns. Has anyone seen this problem and have a solution? I've replaced the video cable and still no change!

If you are close to an object in the back, it could be that the reflection of the brake lights is making the camera dim the shutter speed

Like when you take a video camera from inside to outside, it has to close down the shutter to adjust. It would not happen if there was no object behind you though as there would be nothing to reflect the brake lights back.

I agree, but there's not an object that's behind the car
