cluthch question ?

I have a 09 c6 six speed. I never smoke the tires from a dead stop ,I did today for my step son. I took traction control off ran it up to about four grand and dumped the clutch and the pedal tried to stick to the floor . I have had several vettes just not sure what caused this . 40,000 miles I do not rag this vette .
