A friend of a friend is looking for a C-6. I've been helping him with info on changes through the years and if I thought any deals were worth considering. He was looking at a 2005 with around 40k mi. for $27.5k. Which I thought was a bit high for the year. C-6 deals around this area have been very slim with only some overpriced units at certain used vette shops and area dealers. What do you think he can get with $30k with reasonably low miles and in very good condition? I went through this two years ago searching for a late year C-5. They were either beat or in great condition but the owners wanted a nice dollar for them. I eventually just went with a new GS after much searching. The only thing else I can think of is waiting for Carlisle and seeing what type of deal he can find there .

Stay away from that 05 at that price, way to high. For 30 grand at this late stage,an 07 should be in order with lower then forty k on it.A higher mile 08 maybe. All better cars mechanically then the 05 out of the box. I just paid 34ish for an 8000 mile 08!

If you can wait till Carlisle all the better. But I was in the same position in 2008. Looking to spend about $30K. Ended up buying new for $44K, a little more, but is was NEW! Look around, right on this forum you got dealerships offering 2012 LT1's for $40k. So which would you buy? A used 3-4 year old for $30k or a brand new one for $40k?

Late last year I would've said a determined & lucky buyer might find a decent '08 for around $30k.

But not anymore. Seems like prices have firmed-up in anticipation of Spring.

Of course it depends on miles, options, location, condition, history, etc etc.

But I think you should be able to find a REALLY nice '07 for around $30k, like this:

Enjoy your search!

definatly stay away from that 05, i'd say someone is trying to get healthy off of that! WOW! I bought a few weeks back an 07 coupe, M6, Z51, 3LT with 48k on it for $26500 private party. I would stray from the dealers- and find an individual seller- that needs to sell. You will get your best deal that way! But for 30 grand- you should be able to find a nice 08+ with some miles maybe- but that way you get the newest engine, the LS3. Im just as happy with my LS2, even tho its "outdated and obsolete" LOL, like some people on here will tell ya!
