Body color handles---NO EXCUSE to come from the factory without them. GM keeps trying to put the Vette into the world of Porsche, Ferrari and wonders why those crowds do not move to the ZR1 Supercar....$130,000 Supercar car with black plastic trim door handle piece....pure super stupidity and why GM is GM. With even the most base Coupe now listing at a min $50,500 (with destination)...just nuts. AND DO NOT CITE POOR SALES AND THE CRASHED MARKET and goota cut corners to survive...when the C6 was introduced to sell out crowds at or above MSRP with NO rebates...that black plastic crap was there.
Corvettes are wonderful cars...I've owned 4 and on the verge of buying my 5th...but this cheap nickel and dime attitude has just got to stop.
You want a little rear cargo shade and package net...oh that is only for 3LTs- the $4500 option (note that shade is now part of 2LT for 2013 and very late 12 builds). What, that cargo cover costs GM about $10-15 in quantity, if that. HUD parts cost $350 or so from a parts dealer...GMs cost less then $150 ea in bulk and an easy 10 second install at the factory...this crap should be standard on all Corvettes.
Love Corvettes but hate Chevy and GM--never have and never will buy any of their "other" vehicles.

Have you looked at the options list for those Porsches, Ferraris, BMWs, etc. lately? GM is neither the only, nor the worst offender.
Body color on just about any color, except black or another dark color. The plastic handles actually give a nice place to close the door from so the finger prints don't show. So I voted on body color, as long as your car is not black.
Imo, they all look good. Choose whatever works with your color scheme. If you're planning CF accents to your ride then go CF. If you have some black accents, stay black. If you want a change from stock, go body color.
I can't see the difference on my Magnetic Red 05. When you look at it from the side, it looks dark where the indentation is anyway. So, the dark handle doesn't show that much. If you painted it the same color as the car, there would still be a dark hole there. And if your car is black or dark blue, it shouldn't stick out at all. So, I can't see they difference.
I work for GM and am constantly disgusted by the way they do things. The Corvette door handles are a perfect example.
Put cheap looking black ones on from the factory, but add the body coloured ones as an after-the-fact accessory that customers can buy at an additional price. In Canada that price is $161. And if you don't like the body coloured ones, you can buy a chrome version for only $184.
I don't have a problem with the handle options being available since the people who buy used might have a different preference from the original owner, but there is no excuse as to why these two options shouldn't be available to customers who are ordering brand new.
