Are those the factory low beams or the brighter low beams from the aftermarket?

Are you saying your new D1S HID Lamp didn't light up at all?

Next thing to check/swap is the ballast.

Here's an upside down pic. It's the silver box in the center on the underside of headlight assembly.

saw you just posted pic. well, this is what i was about to post. ya beat me..

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...ange-help.html

instructions in above seem like alot of work to switch ballast in order to test if problem goes with the ballast, but sure would be worth the price if switching doesnt prove bad ballast.
i never tried this place for parts...

If the replacement bulb wouldn't light up, then it is the ballast...newer bulbs are harder to ignite.

Factory ballast on low beams not as good as aftermarket?

No, just that a new bulb takes more voltage to ignite than a bulb that has some hours on it.

Ok I see. Because the existing low beam ballast have been used. The fogs come with new ones already.

Default early 05 corvette low beam module replacement

Just replaced low beam module (ballast) on an early 2005 corvette, had to take front wheel off, pop out the front fender well pull down the air dam then you can get at the module pretty simple. 05 had a bad design as the module sits in a tray that filled with water when the rubber cups came off of the rear of the bulbs and water went in through those openings and fried the module early 2005 corvettes use the same ballast as 2003 to 2006 lincoln navagator just take the old one out to make sure and you will see it has only three bolts instead of the four bolts then google xenaelectron 35 xt-D1/12V and you will see Hope this helps some early 05 owners
