I have a Pioneer AVIC Z2. Unit looks stock but operates much better. If I had it to do over again I would look at Kenwood, they use Garmin for the GPS.
I would look for a factory unit. I have used Pioneer in the past and currently have a Kenwood in my truck but I like the stock one in my Grand Sport much better than either of those.
you are going to get a million different opinions here and the audio section. but since you asked; my opinion is the factory nav SUCKS. i have it in my 2012 coupe. it doesn't play dvds, you can't program it on the run and its not really user friendly. i had the kenwood dnx series in my last car and the difference is night and day. did everything(dvds, on the move destination inputs, rear camera etc. the list goes on and on). garmin technology is easy, accurate and fast and thats what you get with the kenwood. i loved it in my miata and i will be putting it in my vette when my onstar runs out. go to a good audio center and watch them play for your self. kenwood, pionieer you get the picture
I had the Kenwood DNX 6960 installed in my '08 2LT non-Bose coupe and have really liked the unit. Dennis at Double D Mods fixed me up with a complete system (I retained the factory amp and speakers) tailored for my car (head unit, Pac OS2-C OnStar interface, GM antenna adapter, Sirius satellite radio tuner, iPod interface cable, Metra dash kit, the works. The unit's bluetooth system automatically loads my phone book, my OnStar works, my factory warning chimes and RAP are retained and I added a module for my steering wheel radio controls and installed a back-up camera. Great system - I highly recommend Dennis and Kenwood.
I would go for the Kenwood largely because they use the Garmin Nav another plus is if your cell phone has internet you can stream Pandora Radio for free.
Got to agree with the others, Kenwood is the best. Dennis set me up. Was pretty much plug and play except for two wires that had to be spliced into the factory harness. Supposedly in June there will be a new harness that will interface the 2012 Kenwoods to the cars data bus and perhaps some stuff will appear on the HUD. Will have to wait and see. I went with the 7190.

I have to admit...that Kenwood fit and finish looks as good as factory!
