Got my letter from Mel today, you know, Mel Karmazin, the CEO of our "favorite" satellite radio service, thanked me for my years of support and said effective next billing cycle, the rates will be increasing...oh well!
I just signed up for another year at $102. They had sent me a letter stating $83 for 6 months. I called and asked if they had any specials and the girl offered me the $102 for a year. I don't feel this is too much to pay for this service at $8 per month. Just my .02.

I agree, I have 2 radio's with XM and when the time is up, I'll negotiate with them and if I get your deal, I'll be happy....worst part will be calling them and "talking" to their customer service!

I called and talked to them and when I got my price I told them I would mail in a check. No problems at all with the person on the other end of the phone.
No inflation in America, XM is no exception to this, I had three years of the $77 deal and quit to do pandora.
I am still on my free trial, but I have been listening to Pandora and Slacker allot more lately. Still on the fence about renewing when the time comes.
I just renewed my subscription yesterday for $96.00 for 13 months. They had sent me an invoice for over $150.00 a few weeks back. But if you call them they will come down on the price.

But, this will be my last renewal...since retiring I don't drive the Vette as much so why spend the $$$$. I-Pod works for me.
I had Xm in 5 cars. As each expired this year I have not renewed. The only thing I miss is fox and cnn. listen to alot of NPR now but it sucks. Anyway, I can live without it. Plenty of music choices for free.

I started listening to Pandora in our truck as it did not have XM and liked it so when I upgraded to a Kenwood system I did not install the XM module. I wrote to XM and canceled, zero issues with stopping our service this way
At one time had 4 XM subscribtions (two in house and two cars) and now have dumped all 4 due to Pandora (for house) and IPod for cars. Cost is simply not justified for the XM subscription and told them that flat out. XM will fade away like records/tapes, DVDs and now even CDs.
88 BUCKS FOR THE YEAR in the 08 Vette I just bought.Their operating costs have not increased so the price increase is not justified.Next year, after all the subs run out,I'm done unless the 77 or 88 buck a year pricing is around.
