Air cleaner housing rubber grommets
I replaced the factory air cleaner intake in my 08 C6 Z06 with a K&N about a year ago. There are two O.E. rubber grommets that go over the plastic mounting studs in the engine compartment. K&N's intake is designed to simply go over the factory grommets. These grommets are both ripped and need replacing. I contacted the local Chevy dealer and he said the grommets only come with the O.E. intake assembly and cannot be purcahsed seperately. Does anyone know where I can simply buy the 2 rubber grommets? I'm not going to buy a whole intake assembly, that I do not need, for two pieces of rubber. I thank you all for your help.

Do you mean Part #3 Air Cleaner Insulator $4.95
I lost one servicing filter & ordered one at Chevy parts counter. I didn't know part name so I pointed it out when he brought up this diagram on his screen.

Not sure if that is correct part, as there would be two of them, but I will check with dealer. Thank you.

1. Available only with the entire housing (another "way to go, GM" moment.)
and
2. Has a separate price for the thing ($3.19.) How does THAT work??

The parts counter was able to sell me just one. Came in a small baggie from distrubution center.

There indeed are 2 & they pop into those tabs on each side of the flag emblem on diagram. The pin Part #2 is attached to top of radiator & the whole assembly pushes onto them.

I think you can buy rubber grommets separately without intake whole assembly. You may check online, surely you will find number of solutions.

Glad you posted this since I was planning on asking the same thing. One of mine ripped in half as well and I had figured I would call the dealer. Though it's the same dealer that wanted me to order 10 retaining clips($71.90) because that's how they order them, in a bag of 10. WTF isn't a dealer supposed to help out. It's like they assume nobody will ever need another one of these small parts on their car in the future. Prior to the vette I never once had an issue with ordering small random pieces for a car from the dealer, with the vette this is the 3rd time. A huge thank you goes out to partstaxi and gmpartshouse for aiding when our GM dealerships try to screw us over.

Part # 25099300 Gromet
Your dealer's parts man needs to be replaced ! The part number for the individual rubber grommet is 25099300 He's probably on commission and trying to pad his wallet. If not, he need to learn how to read the G M parts fiche. Heck, we have three dealers here in the D/F-W area that stock them.

FYI: When installing, a thin coating of dielectric tune up grease helps ease them over the mounting posts. Same grease you should be lubricating the weather striping with on the removable hatch and around the cargo hatch area. Helps keep the rubber pliable and acts as a water repellent.

Not sure about that, but check the link posted earlier. You might be able to find the answer. These were correct for mine, just installed them today, parts were only 3.19 each plus 9.95 shipping.
