TPMS problem on Vette07 A6
This WE, i get a TPMS service message. My front left tyre car pressure is "XX"Psi
As my car is a 07A6, and from what i have read, it should be the sensor battery that might be dead (and the others should do the same in a few weeks...)
It seems that a should get some aftermarket ones from amazon (or if you get others good place to buy?) but i'm not sure about programming the new one...
From what i have understand, my car can't be set with the magnet, i have to get a special TPMS programming tool? Do you confirm that or is there a DIY way? because i don't get GM seller near from where I live!
thanks for your help
nic
TPMS batteries are designed to last a minimum of 10 years. I have an '07 A6 convertible and have never had a TPMS battery related problem. Suggest you check the exact pressure of the tire in question as under-inflation and over-inflation will trigger the system with a warning. Also, have you replaced tires and if so, could the sensor have been damaged during installation? Good luck solving the problem!
Karl
I have checked the pressure and it was ok (exactly the same as the others! 210kpa)
I just get the car a few weeks ago, and the tyre are ok, but not new... so the problem is quite new! i don't think it's damaged....
I will try to find a TPMS radio trigger to try to "reconnect it"???
but I think I will have to change all 4 when i will change tyres!

Suggest increasing pressure to 250kpa in all tires. 210kpa is about 30 psi and will cause premature tire wear, plus, prompt possible TPMS warnings.
I had a TPMS sensor go bad in my 2009 Pontiac. It may not be very common for the batteries to crap out so soon...but it happens.

When you have the sensor replaced, the shop that does it should have no problem reprogramming it for you.
The Orange Electronic sensors that Amazon.com sells work fine.

Flins Sur Seine??? Is that in Detroit or something!?!

????????????210 kPa = 30 psi, and that is precisely the correct cold tire pressure to run in all C6 Vettes on the street!!!!!
Look on the door sill of your car and you'll see tha 210 kPa is the recommended tire pressure.
250 kPa is more than 36 psi, and that is WAY too high of a cold inflation pressure.
You won't get a low pressure warning until pressure drops below 24 psi - and that's about 165 kPa!!!!
So Nic, stick with your 210 kPa inflation pressure - it's perfect for a cold pressure for street driving.

As others have mentioned, "xx psi" usually means that the battery inside the tire pressure sensor is weak or dead.
You must get the correct replacement tire pressure sensors for your car.
Is your car a Euro spec car, or was it imported from the U.S.???
Cars built for the U.S./Canadian market use one model sensor, and cars built for delivery in Europe use a different sensor - and they are not compatible. You MUST have the correct sensor for your car.
Let me know if your car was imported from North America, or if it was built for European delivery when it was new and I'll tell you what part# tire pressure sensors you need.
Below is a video of how to use a TPMS tool to trigger your sensors. You are correct that the C6 sensors cannot be triggered with a magnet like the C5 sensors. The C6 requires a TPMS tool.

The factory installed sensors in 2005-2009 U.S. spec Corvettes is GM part# 25758220, so that Orange Electronics SC8220 is compatible with the TPMS computer in your car.
Good luck getting the problem solved!!
